Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Arrive into the expansive field Being through the gateway of the body. Yoga Nidra (translated as ‘yogic sleep’) is a practice that involves sequentially circulating awareness through each part of the body (while in shavasana), allowing holding patterns to unknot, and stress to disintegrate.
Yoga Nidra is now showing its benefits not only in traditional yoga culture but in the fields of pain management and psychotherapy. It has proven effective in treating a wide range of afflictions including chronic pain, sleep disorders, addiction, p.t.s.d, low self esteem, anxiety and stress.

All Levels.
What to bring: mat and blanket and/or pillow.

Nataraja Kallio has been a student of Yoga since 1989. He is a professor, storyteller, and Chair of the Yoga Studies degree program at Naropa University. Seven years of study in India provided the initial foundation for his learning. There, he immersed himself in the contemplative traditions of Sri Vidya, Ramana Maharshi and Sri Aurobindo, as well as the Hatha Yoga lineages of Krishnamacharya (namely Iyengar and Ashtanga), Swami Sivananda, and Swami Satyananda. He has completed advanced studies with a wide variety of teachers, earning degrees in Religious Studies and Psychology. His teaching integrates the breadth of Yoga, from its meditative foundations, to its rich history, mythology and philosophy. As director of the only undergraduate Yoga Studies degree program in the U.S., Nataraja focuses on translating yoga to the west in a way that honors it’s roots and its integrative spirit.
