Bridget Law is a fifth generation Colorado Native who has always lived on the front range. It was at the Denver Waldorf School in the third grade that she was introduced to the love of her life, the violin. The connection to this instrument led to years of fiddle competitions, studying jazz in College, traveling to Scotland to learn Celtic music and following the bluegrass scene in Boulder County. Law‘s style on the violin is unique and graceful; she plays with her soul and every tune is a dance. Elephant Revival is her main project of nearly a decade but she also finds time to support artists that she believes in by weaving her violin melodies into their work and lifting the music to another level. It is easy to find her as a guest performer with countless acts including Everyone Orchestra, Fruition, the Shook Twins, Xerephine, Bonfire Dub, Sea Stars and Tierro, or playing on specialty shows like The Last Waltz Revisited. She plays because she finds purpose in bringing joy to those who dance and dream to the music.
Bonnie Paine grew up in the Cherokee Nation in Tahlequah, OK where from a young age she was singing lullabies with her Mother and playing Rock ’n’ Roll with her sisters and the local Legend Randy Crouch. Her feature instrument is the washboard, which she has approached in a very innovative way, keeping time and expressing rhythms with unprecedented talent and energy. Paine‘s voice is truly magical; angelic and haunting, silky and sincere she sings with her whole being. Every word, syllable and message are carefully crafted and consciously delivered. Her talents do not even begin to stop there! Paine is also versed in the musical saw, djembe, stombox, bells and any other quirky instruments she falls for. Recently her great love is the Cello on which she has composed many amazing masterpieces. These cello songs will make their debut at the ARISE festival on Saturday night alongside some awe-inspiring performance art!
